What trainees say about our training courses

‘Possibly the best structured and most professionally delivered training course I have ever attended.’
‘Excellent program. I have been working in tertiary education over the past year and I think this was some of the best training in facilitating small group learning I have received’
‘I really am so blown away by how good the training is!’

‘I was so amazed with the training, how much practical training was present and how ready I feel now to take the class, even though I was getting nervous about it before training. Thank you very much.’
‘I thoroughly enjoyed my first lesson. All the training just kept oozing out of my body and I followed the methods while managing to keep the students engaged.’
‘The training was exceptional and it’s actually helped my parenting as well.’

(Foundational) new ethics teacher training

For new teacher training, you can choose between:

  • face-to-face courses: two full day trainer-led sessions and five prerequisite e-learning (total time 17-18 hours) or
  • online courses: four 2.5 hour trainer-led Zoom sessions, with additional self-paced e-learning and forum between sessions, plus four prerequisite e-learning (total time 17-18 hours).

Upcoming face-to-face courses (onsite at the venue)

Face-to-face trainees attend two full days of interactive training, at a convenient inner-city Sydney or regional venue. Training is usually scheduled for two days in a row (mid-week or over a weekend), or two days over two consecutive weekends.

The next face-to-face courses are:

  • 9.30am – 4.30pm Saturday & Sunday, 25 & 26 July at UTS, Broadway (10 minute walk from Central station transport hub)
  • 9.30am – 4.30pm Saturday & Sunday, 22 & 23 August at UTS, Broadway (10 minute walk from Central station transport hub)
  • 9.30am – 4.30pm Saturday & Sunday, 19 & 20 September at UTS, Broadway (10 minute walk from Central station transport hub)

Face-to-face options for December 2026 onwards will be available in due course.

Upcoming online courses (via Zoom)

Online trainees must commit to attend all four Zoom sessions for that group, usually at the same times every week for two or four consecutive weeks (details and dates are listed below). All Zoom sessions are interactive and are run ‘live’ by a Primary Ethics trainer. You will need to participate fully with your camera on. Trainees must also complete some self-paced e-learning and contribute to an online forum between Zoom sessions (these two activities combined take approximately one hour per session).

Contact Danya Webb or Emily Zytaruk on training@primaryethics.com.au for more details, to change an enrolment or to be added to a waitlist if your preferred course is currently full. Make sure you’ve applied, had your interview, logged in, ‘clicked to launch’ your 2026 new ethics teacher training and completed the 4-5 prerequisite e-learning modules first.

Note: If you are not planning to start teaching for quite some time, then we recommend waiting to book into a training course that completes 1-2 months of the date that you will likely start teaching ethics at your school. We want to set you up for success and this gives you the best chance to put your new skills into action while they are still fresh. If there is a longer delay between training and starting to teach, you may be required to complete an additional refresher module.

For 2027, there will be various training courses starting early January & February, ideal for new ethics teachers wishing to start teaching ethics when ethics lessons resumes around Week 3, late February / early March.

Stage 4 (high school) training

For those ethics teachers planning to teach Stage 4 (high school), an additional self-paced e-learning and trainer-led assessment is required on top of the foundational new teacher training. This course covers different techniques to engage high school students.

Read about high school ethics here or contact Tatar Morales or Danya Webb on training@primaryethics.com.au for more details about teaching high school, to enrol in the high school e-learning course or to book in to deliver your face to face or online Stage 4 assessment lesson.
