Being an ethics teacher is not just a volunteer role – it’s a profound opportunity to shape the future. Our community of thousands of passionate volunteers is at the heart of this inspiring journey, nurturing the ethical decision-makers of tomorrow. Yet we cannot meet the demand for our wonderful program!

Here’s the thing: We’re a humble group. We pour our hearts into teaching ethics every week, but we sometimes shy away from celebrating the incredible impact we’re having. We assume our work speaks for itself.

But now it’s time to get our message out there and invite others to join us! One conversation can start a ripple effect. Share your passion, spread the word, help us continue to expand our impact.

Teaching ethics is awesome! Pass it on.

Here’s where we need your help.

We’re asking every ethics volunteer to do what they can to inspire one other person to join us. Or more than one.

(We know that many of you have already brought friends and family onboard. Now we ask you to have a think about finding just one more person.)

Think through your network. Who do you know who would be moved by the chance to influence a more ethical future? Who might be excited about the opportunity to step up and volunteer?

Over the next few months, we’ll be sharing some ways that you can bring others along beside you. Until then, let’s make every conversation, LinkedIn post, Facebook update and WhatsApp message be a beacon for potential new ethics volunteers. Your enthusiasm can light the way for others to discover the joy and reward of teaching ethics.

Here are some suggested conversation starters:

LinkedIn: Looking for more meaning and purpose in your week? One of the highlights of my week is teaching ethics and I appreciate my employer giving me the flexibility to volunteer for 30 minutes every Thursday. I want to encourage you to look into this in your local school and volunteer if you can. (Don’t forget to tag Primary Ethics. If you want to add a photo, go ahead, just make sure it doesn’t have any students in it!)

Facebook post: Just wrapped up a lively discussion with my ethics class about why fairness might not always mean treating everyone the same. Our school could really use more volunteer teachers for these sessions. If you’ve got an hour a week and are open to teaching a group of kids using a great script, it’s worth considering! Ask me about it. 😊

What’s App old school friends: Hey – remember non-scripture at school and how we used to muck up so much? Ironically, I’m now a volunteer ethics teacher at my kids’ school – just wondering if anyone else is too? Highly recommend if you hadn’t considered it yet…

Instagram: Use one of our social squares below with a recommendation in your own words!

Possible pass-it-on opportunities:

  • It’s school holidays. Doing playdates? Talk to other parents!
  • Does your LinkedIn profile show that you volunteer with us? Use it to show how you are making a positive impact (not to mention value-adding to your career).
  • Know someone who knows someone? Encourage others to speak with their networks about Primary Ethics.
  • Are you following us on your most-used social media? Every like and comment on our posts helps get the word out to more people.

We’ve supplied some social media squares below which you can download and use on Facebook or Instagram or even send in a text or Whats App to someone you think is open to the idea.
